2 Songs, both by the great Link Wray, with different names, but essentially the exact same.
Upon closer inspection, they both even appeared on the same album " 1963's "Jack the Ripper."
Did he think no one would notice?
I'm not dissing Link, and as far as I'm concerned he gets a free pass, I just think it's kinda funny.
Check 'em out below:
Maybe it's just me but I always thought these two had very similar intros.
Once again, they both came out in the same year, 1981. Why does that seem to happen so often?
Anyway, here's Iron Maiden with "Prodigal Son" from "Killers"
And Ozzy Osbourne with "You Can't Kill Rock & Roll" from "Diary of A Madman"
These two are interesting because they both came out in the same year.
Which one was written first? Was there some sort of weird telepathy thing going on?
Anyway, they're not exactly the same, but I figured they were close enough to warrant a post. So here they are, Link Wray with "You hurt me so" and the Beatles with "You've got to hide your love away" both from 1965.
I think this is going to be a regular feature here.
Whenever I hear two songs that sound alike, I always wonder if the later artist did it on purpose and hoped no one would notice, or if it was subliminal, or even a coincidence.
I guess in most cases we'll never know.
Anyway, here's the Ventures with "the Bat" (1963) and Huevos Rancheros with "Night of the Iguana" (1996)
